Makati City thanks AFP for COVID-19 vaccination support

Makati City Mayor Abby Binay and the city government gave due recognition to the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for assisting the city in its COVID-19 vaccination efforts amid the ongoing pandemic.

In a Facebook post, Vice Mayor Monique Lagdameo, on behalf of Binay, presented gifts and certificates to members of the AFP Reserve Command - Medical Corp for their efforts in battling the pandemic.

The local government unit (LGU) said that the AFP personnel are great force multipliers in helping them inoculate more than 624,000 residents against the dreaded disease.

According to the LGU, the city has deployed 881,224 COVID-19 vaccines as of Nov. 24 with 428,423 residents who have been inoculated with their first dose, and 368,545 who have been fully vaccinated.

Makati has recorded 60 active COVID-19 cases as of Nov. 28, 44,072 recoveries, and 983 deaths.

Meanwhile, the LGU also opened its walk-in COVID-19 booster shots vaccination for seniors and persons with comorbidities in its bid to further increase the citizens' protection against the virus.

It also reminded the public that only those who are fully vaccinated six months prior and beyond are eligible to receive the booster shots.

The requirements and schedule for booster shots deployment can be seen in Makati City's official Facebook page.
