BOC seizes P102-million worth of shabu


Agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Manila International Container Port (MICP), backed with government's anti-narcotics operatives, seized some 15 kilos of shabu during a buy-bust in Caloocan City.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of Randy Rafael, according to the MICP report.

Seized from Rafael during the buy-bust include one piece of Chinese tea bag containing more or less 1kg of suspected shabu – the subject of sale – as well as 14 pieces of similar Chinese teabag in his possession.

The illegal drugs seized from him have a street value of P102 million.

Rafael is now under the custody of the Philippine National Police at Canp Crame in Quezon City. turned over to PDEG headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

He is facing charges of violations of Republic Act (RA) No. 9165 – also known as the Comprehensive Drugs Act – and the RA No. 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
