Zambo City targets over 116K in 3-day nat'l vax drive

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The City Health Office (CHO) is targeting to inoculate some 116,976 or 38,992 individuals per day during the scheduled three-day National Vaccination Days from November 29 to December 1.

The three-day National Vaccination Days will be led by the Department of Health and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said Saturday they have identified 50 vaccination centers with manpower components coming from their office, private institutions, and volunteers.

She added that the vaccination centers are 24 health districts, 17 schools and malls, and nine government and private hospitals.

President Rodrigo Duterte signed on Nov. 24 Proclamation 1253 declaring Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 as the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days”.

The three-day national vaccination campaign is to boost the vaccination rate of the country against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar is mobilizing all government resources to include the barangays to ensure the success of the immunization campaign.

Meanwhile, Miravite said 266,584 individuals or 38.37 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696 have been fully vaccinated since March this year.

Miravite said 454,056 individuals have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines or 65.36 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696.

The CHO has three walk-in vaccination centers for the adult population and eight for the second dose and pre-registered vaccinees as priorities.
