K-drama ‘Bad and Crazy’ stars Lee Dong-wook, Wi Ha-joon introduce their characters

“Bad and Crazy,” the upcoming iQiyi Original Korean drama, will premiere on the OTT platform on Dec. 17 and its stars talked about their characters.

The series will star “Goblin” actor Lee Dong-wook and “Squid Game” Wi Ha-joon, and presented by the production team behind “The Uncanny Counter.” The drama also stars actress Han Ji-eun and actor Cha Hak-yeon, more popularly known as N of K-pop boy band VIXX.

A heroic drama, “Bad and Crazy” follows capable but bad cop Ryu Su Yeol (Lee Dong-wook) regaining his humanity after meeting the righteous but crazy K (Wi Ha-joon).

“‘Bad and Crazy’ tells the story of talented but bad Su Yeol turning his life around after he meets righteous but crazy K. Slightly strange people,” said Wi Ha-joon in a video uploaded on iQiyi’s Instagram account.

Lee Dong-wook said, “Slightly strange people stepped up to realize a just society.”

“Su Yeol is a materialistic detective who chases nothing but success and K is all about justice,” said Han Ji-eun who plays detective Lee Hee Kyum.

Wi Ha-joon added, “An unprecedented team plays as the outsiders gather to flip the world on its head.”

In a 30-second teaser video that was released, Ryu Su Yeol is left helpless in his encounters with the crazy motorcycle rider K. Donning a helmet, K rides recklessly on the streets to leave pillion rider Ryu Su Yeol screaming.

When they meet again, Ryu Su Yeol is in a bathrobe in a back alley, and K lifts his ride over him in a shocking and dangerous move. The seemingly insane K wheelies to shatter a window of the car that Ryu Su Yeol is in, to leave him shaken.

The trailer also suggests that their relationship is not one-sided. While they can’t seem to stand each other, the two end up rocking a seesaw together. “Can we respect each other’s privacy?” asks Ryu Su Yeol in a scene that reveals their inner child to have viewers wonder about their relationship.

However, in moments of danger, they know they have to work together and count on each other. As the assertion “Only you and I can do this!” and the question “Us both?” suggest, the two share an unshakeable bond.

“Bad and Crazy” will premiere on iQiyi on Dec. 17, with new episodes simulcasting with Korea on Fridays and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m. (SGT), globally across 191 territories on the iQiyi International app and www.iQ.com.
