PNP prepares for face-to-face classes in NCR

Gen. Dionardo Carlos, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), ordered all police commanders to prepare for the face-to-face classes in Metro Manila.

This, after the Department of Education gave a go-signal go for some schools to proceed with the face-to-face classes starting December 6 as part of the measure to return tom normalcy.

At least 28 schools in Metro Manila are being eyed as the pioneering batch for the resumption of in-person classes.

“The PNP will secure a final list of the participating school so I can order the chiefs of police in those areas to plan for their deployment to ensure security in these school premises,” said Carlos.

But Carlos said the police's participation in school will not be like of what happened in Pangasinan wherein police officers were armed with long firearms while inside the classroom.

“Schools are zones of peace and we will acknowledge that. Much has been done to orient our personnel regarding this policy,” said Carlos.
