The number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the Municipality of Pateros in Metro Manila has fallen to only eight.
In a post by the municipal government based on data from the Pateros Health Department, the active cases in Pateros stood at eight including seven new cases as of Nov. 24.
This is a drastic decrease from 19 active cases including six new cases on Nov. 22 and 12 including zero new cases on Nov. 23.
Based on the Nov. 24 data, Pateros has 7,934 total confirmed cases since last year, 7,818 recoveries and 105 deaths.
Of the eight active cases, six are asymptomatic and two are mild cases of COVID-19, and they are all under isolation. By area, five are from Bgy. Sta. Ana, and one each in Bgy. Martirez Del 96, San Roque and Santo Rosario-Kanluran.
Barangays in Pateros with zero cases of COVID-19 are Aguho, Magtanggol, Poblacion, San Pedro, Santo Rosario-Silangan and Tabacalera.
Pateros is the smallest local government unit (LGU) in Metro Manila with an estimated total population of 70,000.
In a report by OCTA Research last week, it listed Pateros as the third LGU in Metro Manila with the lowest average daily attack rate (ADAR) of 1.45, or number of new daily cases per 100,000 from Nov. 12 to 18.
The infection rate of Pateros stood at 0.25 as of Nov. 15, the lowest in Metro Manila. Its healthcare utilization rate was only five percent while intensive care unit (ICU) occupancy was zero percent.
The Pateros municipal government is vaccinating adults and minors aged 12 to 17, and giving booster shots and third doses to healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
