It is no secret that social media is cruel particularly for celebrities.

It enables no-good individuals to trash them in numerous ways.

But still, there they are, hanging on to the platform, hoping against hope that it will help continue making them relevant.

Nothing wrong with that, of course.

Showbiz is fickle.

You can’t be absent for far too long.

In any case, one is inclined to think most celebrities would have learned their lesson by now, double checking their posts for errors or whatnot.

But, no.

Some of them are just too eager to fill their pages they actually feed their enemies bullets to shoot them with.

Take for example Heaven Peralejo.

The sexy actress recently posted a photo of her in Facebook in celebration of her 22nd birthday.

Seemingly eager to appear witty, she wrote as caption: “22 rotations around the sun and cheers to more. Grateful for all the lessons, blessings, and people in my life that have helped shape the woman I’m becoming. Here’s to thriving, smiling, and riding through the waves of life!”

Just like that, and boom, like a teeming horde of flesh-eating zombies, bashers tore her down to pieces.

Some of the comments:

“Rotations talaga ‘te? Ibig sabihin 22 days old ka pa lang?”

“Pumasa ka ba sa science?”

“Sisiw ka gurl?”

“Revolve hindi rotate, ano vah!!!”

A scientist (or not) then added: “Day, the earth revolves around the sun; hence we have 365 and 1/4 days = 1 year. Rotation = earth rotates around its axis for 23 hours, 56 minutes, and 4 seconds (rounded off to 24 hours) = 1 day. Di ako expert pero natutunan ko to sa Science class in elementary and high school. Not bashing. Just a quick Science refresher keme. Baka kasi may mga followers na mag-attempt din to use the “rotations around the sun” phrase. Happy birthday! P.S. Hello sa lahat! Ang dami nating oras to comment dito.”

As to Heaven, well, she’s since realized her mistake.

She thanked fans for it, too, writing simply: “Thank you for the science lesson guys!”
