Roider Cabrera remains under observation at the hospital a day after collapsing at the end of two matches for Terrafirma in the PBA 3x3 tournament.

Team governor Bobby Rosales said Terrafirma is giving its all-out support to Cabrera, who lost consciousness shortly after playing a starring role in the team’s victories over Meralco and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

“The whole Terrafirma Dyip family is full of hope that things would turn out fine for Terrafirma 3x3 player, Roider Cabrera,” Rosales said in a statement released Thursday, Nov. 24. “He is now in the hospital, getting the best medical treatment and care possible. Terrafirma Dyip management is completely behind his full recovery.”

Rosales, however, refrained from making further details, saying that medical bulletins are being handed to Cabrera’s family, but also thanked those who took immediate action shortly after the incident took place.

Those inside the venue were told that Terrafirma had just finished a postgame prayer inside the dugout when the 30-year-old former Adamson mainstay suddenly collapsed.

“Medical bulletins are given directly to his immediate family and we give them the respect and the discretion to whatever they want or may not want to share to the public,” Rosales said.

“We would also like to thank from our hearts the first responders on the scene who took care of Roider, the medical workers and the whole PBA and PBA 3x3 family. Let us continue to include Roider and his family in our prayers.”

Terrafirma teammate Terrence Tumalip was one of many who expressed their wishes for Cabrera to make a speedy recovery.

Tumalip, Jebb Bulawan and Dhon Reverente were joined by Matt Salem, who was tapped as Cabrera’s replacement for the final day of the 3x3’s second leg.
