The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) along with Department of Health (DOH) have started inspecting the training venues for the athletes as the league eyes return of training under a bubble setup in January 2022.
NCAA management committee member Peter Cayco bared that the league and the DOH have visited the training venues on Thursday, Nov 25.
Arellano University was the first school to get inspected while other member schools are already scheduled for a visit from the league officials and the health department.
“Okay naman siya kaya lang we’ll wait for the evaluation which mga two to three days ipapadala sa amin. May mga schedule na kami, lahat maiinspect,” Cayco told Manila Bulletin.
Cayco said the DOH has given the league several guidelines and requirements for the bubble training facilities as they prepare for the return of training in the first week of January – a move that was deemed crucial if the league hopes to open the NCAA Season 97 by February next year.
“May binigay silang guidelines, you comply with the guidelines,a ng kagandahan ng inspection ngayon okay lang di mo macomply lahat, they will give you time to complete your compliance,” explained Cayco.
With the easing of restrictions in Metro Manila, which is now under Alert Level 2 status, and the athletes’ vaccinations already near 100%, the NCAA has ruled out the possibility of putting up a bubble outside Metro Manila. There’s still no possible venue yet for the NCR bubble as the NCAA tries to focus first on having the athletes return to their shape.
