Mayor Emi aims for single-digit COVID-19 cases in Pasay City

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano is aiming for single-digit COVID-19 cases in the city.

The City Health Office recorded 36 active cases on Nov. 23 and nine new cases.

Rubiano said the city government can achieve this if residents will continue to follow the local basic health protocols such as the EMI habit (E-nsure to always wash your hands, M-ask is a must , and I-mplement physical distancing).

She also noted the zero death recorded in the city because of the immediate action by health professionals in providing treatment to COVID-19 positive patients.

The mayor said that from the 201 barangays with COVID-19 cases in the city, only 22 barangays remain with active cases.

These are Barangays 129 and 183 with five, 41,66,81,98, 185 and 201 with two each, and the other 14 barangays with one active case each.

Rubiano also urged city residents to get vaccinated against the virus.

She said the city has deployed 558,943 vaccines and fully-vaccinated 265,255 residents.
