Lapu Lapu City mall goers required to present vax card

CEBU CITY — Beginning Thursday, Nov. 25, those who will enter malls in Lapu-Lapu City will be required to present a vaccination card.

Unvaccinated individuals will still be able to enter malls in Lapu-Lapu but they have to go through a rapid antigen test.

“The rapid antigen test will be for free as it will be shouldered by the city government,” said Lapu-Lapu Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan.

Chan added the city will also be forming a composite team that will conduct random antigen tests among unvaccinated employees in different commercial, industrial outlets, hotels and resorts.

Chan emphasized Lapu-Lapu residents will not be forced to take the vaccine but the unvaccinated ones must undergo rapid antigen tests for free so they can still enter commercial establishments.

“That’s our way of caring the Oponganons,” Chan said.

Chan likewise reminded that minors entering malls must wear facemasks and must be accompanied by vaccinated parents or those who had undergone antigen tests upon entry.
