Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial bets dare other 2022 poll bets to take drug test

The Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial slate is challenging other candidates running for the same position to undergo voluntary drug tests.

Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial bets Carl Balita, Joseph Sison, and Samira Gutoc on Wednesday, Nov. 24, said they were willing to undergo drug tests to prove their sincere intentions to serve the public.

"Ang mga pangulo lang rin naman ay inilgay na ang kanilang mga sarili sa drug test, kami pong tatlong kandidato ng Aksyon Demokratiko ay naghahamon na kami ay magpapa drug test sa lalong madaling panahon (Since the presidential candidates have already put themselves to take the drug test, us three candidates of Aksyon Demokratiko are challenging that we will take a drug test as soon as possible)," said Balita.

"Gusto po namin ipakita sa inyo ang aming kalinisan at intensyon namin maglingkod at kasama po nito ang hamon sa lahat ng tumatakbo sa lahat ng halal na posisyon, na kayo po ay ibigay ninyo ang inyong sarili para sa drug test (We want to show you our cleanliness and our intention to serve and with this, we also challenge all running in elected positions, that you give yourself to undergo a drug test)," he added.

On Wednesday morning, presidential aspirant and Manila mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" also said he has already written a letter to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to subject him to a drug test.

“In the interest of public service of the highest order, may I please submit myself for immediate drug testing for cocaine, shabu, marijuana, or all other illegal substances,” Domagoso said in his letter addressed to PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva.

“I shall make myself personally available in your office the soonest possible," he wrote.

President Duterte had earlier revealed that one of the presidential aspirants was a cocaine user.
