The Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial slate is challenging other candidates running for the same position to undergo voluntary drug tests.
Aksyon Demokratiko senatorial bets Carl Balita, Joseph Sison, and Samira Gutoc on Wednesday, Nov. 24, said they were willing to undergo drug tests to prove their sincere intentions to serve the public.
Since the presidential candidates have already put themselves to take the drug test, us three candidates of Aksyon Demokratiko are challenging that we will take a drug test as soon as possible),” said Balita.
We want to show you our cleanliness and our intention to serve and with this, we also challenge all running in elected positions, that you give yourself to undergo a drug test),” he added.
On Wednesday morning, presidential aspirant and Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” also said he has already written a letter to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to subject him to a drug test.
“In the interest of public service of the highest order, may I please submit myself for immediate drug testing for cocaine, shabu, marijuana, or all other illegal substances,” Domagoso said in his letter addressed to PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva.
“I shall make myself personally available in your office the soonest possible,” he wrote.
President Duterte had earlier revealed that one of the presidential aspirants was a cocaine user.
