5,000 QC medical frontliners get COVID-19 booster shots

The Quezon City government has started administering COVID-19 booster shots to its health care workers on Tuesday, Nov.23.

A total of 5,000 health care workers and non-medical personnel will be inoculated from Tuesday to Friday (Nov.23-26) in the city's vaccination sites.

“Our healthcare workers are the first ones to receive the vaccines when we first launched it in March. Since they are consistently exposed to the virus due to their work, it is important that they be given booster shots for additional protection,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.

Health care workers may proceed to the following vaccination sites to receive their booster shot:

- Rosa Susano Elementary School

- Pinyahan Elementary School

- Don Alejandro Roces Science Technology High School

Quezon City-based tertiary hospitals have started to vaccinate their medical and non-medical staff.

Health care workers of hospitals and medical facilities will need to register with the city’s vaccination registration and booking system: www.qceservices.quezoncity.gov.ph/qcvaxeasy

QC Task Force Vax to Normal Coordinator Dr. Malou Eleria said the city government continues to vaccinate its residents and workers even after exceeding the target population of 1.7 million for population protection.
