Senate President Vicente C. Sotto on Monday, Nov. 22 said he firmly believes that Philippine leaders should be drug-free.
‘’They should lead by example and by conviction. If they cannot do this, then how will the people follow, believe and obey them?’’ Sotto asked.
Sotto, former Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) chief, said Illegal drugs is a serious issue with or without the election season.
The Senate chief issued the statement after he and presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo M. Lacson had themselves tested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Diliman, Quezon city this afternoon.
The result released late this afternoon. Is that the two are ‘’negative.’’
Sotto said PDEA used the Multi Drug One-step immunometric assay method on their urine samples.
