To fight for a corruption-free election in 2022, women's organizations and personalities launched Babae Laban sa Korupsyon (BALAK).
BALAK, composed of diverse organizations and intergenerational women, demands an end to corruption "as these happen at the national level and in the time of the pandemic."
"We shall scrutinize all presidential candidates' platforms on graft and corruption for the 2022 elections. We shall ensure that these issues shall be high up on the agenda of the coming administration," BALAK said in a statement.
"End graft and corruption! Punish the plunderers! Ensure good governance for the country! End impunity!"
The group said it will support anti-corruption investigations and legal cases demanding accountability "for those involved in the plunder of the people's money."
"The coalition will also engage candidates on their stand on corruption and examine their track record in matters related to this concern," BALAK ended.
