Popular TV director Bert de Leon passes away

Seasoned director Bert de Leon has passed away.

There are no details yet regarding the actual cause but he has endured several illnesses of late including a bout with COVID-19.

Netizens wrote messages of condolences and sympathy on his Facebook today, Nov. 21.



Noli de Castro daughter, PTV4 General Manager Kat de Castro, was among those who penned appreciation posts for De Leon.



"You always had a warm smile every time we’d cross paths. You are so loved by many," she said. "Rest in peace Direk Bert de Leon. (heart emoji)."



Kapuso actor-writer Michael V. has appealed to the public to help the "Okay Ka, Fairy Ko!: The Movie" director, whom he said is in dire need of financial assistance due to COVID-19.



Michael V. has also mounted a fund-raising event for De Leon, who was the director of his shows “Pepito Manaloto,” and “Bubble Gang.”
