Armel “Armel” Tabios and Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla are set to join Marco Polo Luis “Raven” Fausto and Djardel “DJ” Mampusti in the new Fnatic roster for the upcoming 2021-22 DPC SEA Tour 1, the esports organization announced on Saturday, Nov. 20.
The two will be reinforcing the Fnatic core which finished at the 9th-12th place in The International 10 last month led by Thai captain Anucha “Jabz” Jirawong.
With the addition of Jaunuel, DJ will go back to his role at the position 4 while Jabz moves to the position 3 which was vacated after the release of Indonesian Yang Wu “Deth” Heng.
It will also be a reunion of sort for Armel and Raven who both played for TNC Predator back in 2018.
Fnatic expects Armel to provide the veteran presence especially with a handful of major tournaments and championship under his belt. Jaunuel meanwhile will be injecting young blood as one of the up-and-coming Dota 2 stars from the SEA region.
“Armel's vast experience across numerous LAN events including a Major championship is a welcome addition to the team... Jaunuel meanwhile is an up-and-coming support player that made waves during the Singapore Major where he led his team to an impressive top 6 finish,” said Fnatic in a statement.
With the new line-up, Fnatic hopes to hold its ground against the best from the SEA region in the Division I wars of the DPC SEA Tour 1.
The team will be facing the Carlo “Kuku” Palad-led T1 squad along with the other new rosters from OB.Neon, TNC, Omega Esports, Execration, Motivate.Trust Gaming and Team SMG.
