Coro Kudyapi, a children’s choir composed of Filipino children born in Spain, was a featured performer in the 19th edition of the Cultural Festival of El Raval held in early November 2021.

The choir group was created in 2004 with the aim of giving second and third generation Filipinos a sense of their Filipino identity by instilling in them Filipino values and culture through music.

Coro Kudyapi’s performance held at the Placadels Àngels was very well attended. The group interpreted the song “Tragedy” by the Bee Gees and a choral medley from the rock musical Hair. The performance was well received and applauded not just by Filipinos but also by the Spanish locals in the audience.

The Filipino choir’s musical interpretations through their public performances continue to be a source of pride and joy not just from the parents of its members but also of the entire Filipino community in the region of Catalunya.
