Las Pinas City gov’t starts giving COVID-19 booster shots to health workers

The Las Pinas City government will start administering COVID-19 booster short to the city’s health workers on Saturday (Nov. 20)

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the City Health Office (CHO) recorded a total of 3,700 health workers belonging to the A1 category who were fully vaccinated and scheduled to receive their booster shot.

Aguilar said the booster shot rollout for the health workers will use Pfizer vaccine.

She instructed the CHO to immediately start administering the vaccines to fully vaccinated health workers after the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force approved the roll out of booster shots.

Vice-Mayor April Aguilar on Thursday met Dr. Juliana Gonzales and Immunization Program Coordinator Dr. Eleen Gumpal to get updates on the vaccination program.

She asked the CHO to be ready while waiting for the guidelines from the DOH on the vaccination of those belonging to the A2 category (senior citizens) and A3 (adult with comorbidities).

The vice-mayor also pushed the vaccination team to work double time in convincing residents on the importance of being vaccinated against the virus.
