San Juan City opens Christmas Bazaar registration to SMEs

In its bid to help small and medium enterprises (SMEs) adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the San Juan City local government opened on Thursday, Nov. 15, the registration for its Christmas Bazaar which will start next month.

"Ang Lungsod ng San Juan ay magsasagawa ng Christmas Bazaar sa Pinaglabanan Shrine simula December 3, 2021 hanggang January 2, 2022 bilang bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan ng mga San Juaneño na simbolo ng ating pasasalamat sa ating patuloy na kaligtasan at pagbangon mula sa pandemya (The City of San Juan will hold a Christmas Bazaar at the Pinaglabanan Shrine starting Dec. 3, 2021 to Jan. 2, 2022 as part of our celebration of Kapaskuhan ng mga San Juaneño which symbolizes our gratitude for keeping us safe from the virus and rising up against the pandemic)," San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora said.

The National Capital Region (NCR) was placed under Alert Level 2 on Nov. 5 which will last until Nov. 21.

Alert Level 2 means there are no age-based mobility restrictions in the National Capital Region.

It also allows an increased capacity for businesses and activities such as restaurant dine-in, beauty salons and the like, and religious activities, among others.

The local government unit (LGU) also attached “100% Fully Vaccinated” and “VIP (Vaccine Incentive Program)” stickers on several establishments in the city as proof that they are compliant with the quarantine rules and regulations set up by the government to combat COVID-19.

Zamora said establishments that received the “100% Fully Vaccinated” seal are those whose employees have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as verified by the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO) and the City Health Office (CHO). This is through E.O. FMZ-081, “An Order Encouraging the Vaccination of All Employees of Businesses Allowed to Operate in San Juan.”

Meanwhile, the “VIP” Stickers will be given to establishments that will participate in giving discounts and/or incentives to fully vaccinated individuals. This initiative is through E.O. FMZ-082, “An Order Encouraging Businesses Allowed to Operate under GCQ in San Juan to Provide Incentives and/or Discounts to Vaccinated Customers.”
