Mike Shapiro, world renowned drummer and producer, has died.
He was 57.
The sad news was confirmed in a statement by his wife, singer and social media star Katrina Velarde, on Tuesday.
She said in part: “Prayers for the repose of his soul are most appreciated and I would like to request for privacy during this difficult time."
Mike and Katrina tied the knot in a ceremony held in Tagatay only last May.
Mike worked prior with the likes of Natalie Cole, Herb Alpert, Sergio Mendes, and Will.i.am.
