Carlos vows to continue Eleazar's reform programs

Newly-installed chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Lt. Gen. Dionardo Carlos vowed on Monday, Nov. 15, to continue the programs and projects initiated by his predecessor, including the preparations for the May 2022 elections.

Carlos said that as soon as retired PNP chief Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar assumed the top post in May, his immediate directive is to have all unit commanders start preparing to ensure the peaceful and credible conduct of the elections.

Carlos was then the Chief of the Directorial Staff whose duty is to supervise and manage the operations and other administrative matters for all the PNP units nationwide.

“We have already prepared for this starting May and we will continue pour preparations,” said Carlos whose retirement age is scheduled a day before the election day in May next year.

Aside from elections, Carlos said that Eleazar has already set goals on the aspect of internal cleansing, anti-corruption drive and good performance in the conduct of law enforcement.

This will be done, according to Carlos, by further strengthening the supervision of unit commanders to their men.
