DOH reports 1,926 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday, Nov. 14, reported 1,926 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.

Active infections nationwide were at 28,102. Sixty-two percent of those who are still sick have mild symptoms, 16.94 percent were in moderate condition, 10.5 percent have severe symptoms, 5.8 percent were asymptomatic, and 4.5 percent were in critical condition.

The death toll climbed to 45,581 after the viral disease claimed 309 more lives, including the “245 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries” but were “reclassified as deaths after final validation.”

Meanwhile, 3,140 more patients got better. These pushed the recovery count to 2,743,297.

Since the pandemic hit the Philippines last year, a total of 2,816,980 COVID-19 cases have so far been confirmed.

“Twenty-six duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 24 are recoveries,” the DOH said.
