VP Leni arrives in Cebu

CEBU CITY — Vice President Leni Robredo arrived in Cebu on Friday, November 12, to grace a series of activities.

Robredo is the fourth presidential candidate to visit Cebu after the filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) for next year’s elections.

First to visit Cebu prior to Robredo were former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Senator Manny Pacquiao and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.

Robredo’s supporters painted the town pink as they waited the Vice President’s arrival.

Carrying white balloons, flaglets and some wearing pink shirts, some of the supporters waited at the Marcelo Fernan Bridge to greet Robredo, who arrived at the Mactan Cebu International Airport around 10 a.m.

From the airport, Robredo paid a courtesy visit to Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma at the Archbishop’s Palace in Cebu City.

Inside the Archbishop’s Palace compound, Robredo had a dialog with various sectoral leaders.

Robredo was also scheduled to grace the blessing of the “Cebu for Leni” headquarters along Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City.

At the headquarters, Robredo was invited to lead the oath-taking of the Cebu People’s Campaign Assembly (CPCA) Council.

Among Robredo’s activities in the first of her two-day Cebu trip were the gracing of the turnover of sustainable and training subsidies to the Pagtambayayong Foundation and a meet and greet with Sangguniang Kabataan and youth organization leaders.
