Brothers nabbed for shabu in Taguig; 4 others fall in buy-bust operations


Two brothers were arrested during “Oplan Sita” and four others were nabbed in buy-bust operations in Taguig and Muntinlupa Wednesday, Southern Police District Director, Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg announced.

At about 7:50 p.m. on Nov. 10, brothers Mark Lowie Cuevas, 29, and Mark Lester Cuevas, 27, were arrested along Bambang Nipeles in Bgy. Calzada Tipas, Taguig by personnel from the Taguig Police Substation 5 who were conducting “Oplan Sita.”

They were riding a motorcycle when they were flagged down by the police for verification of driver’s license and registration.

According to the police, the two acted suspiciously and tried to escape but they were eventually caught. They were subjected to frisking wherein police officers found them in possession of illegal drugs.

Confiscated from the two were two small plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing about 1 gram with a value of P6,800.

In Muntinlupa, operatives from the Muntinlupa police’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Maj. Peter Aquino conducted a buy-bust operation at about 8:04 p.m. in Bagong Paraiso in Brgy. Bayanan that resulted in the arrest of suspect Jose Quipia, 39, and Jessie Orcine, 34.

Confiscated from the suspects were three plastic sachets containing about 1 gram of suspected shabu with a value of P6,800.

At about 8:30 p.m. in Bagong Silang Street, Brgy Hagonoy, Taguig on Nov. 10, Taguig SDEU operatives conducted a buy-bust operation led by Lt. Ariz Ramos and arrested suspects Fortunato Igdao, 40, and Peter James Pesigan, 30.

Recovered from the suspects were five plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing about six grams with a value of P40,800.
