Presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Wednesday, Nov. 10, said he would push for the construction of a bridge connecting the provinces of Bataan, Cavite, and Batangas.

Domagoso, along with his running mate Willie Ong and Aksyon Demokratiko's senatorial bets, paid a visit to the farmers and fisherfolks in Balanga City, Bataan on Wednesday.

In his speech, the Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer said he will pursue the construction of a bridge that will link Bataan, Batangas, and Cavite if he is elected as the country’s next president.

“We will continue the Build, Build, Build. But in our case, habang tinuloy yung mga sinimulan na, tayo naman (while continuing what has already begun, we), mag-build, build, build tayo: build more schools, build more hospitals, build more industry, build more jobs and build the bridge from Bataan to Corregidor, to Batangas and Cavite,” he said.

Domagoso said linking these three provinces would result to a faster transport and easier exchange of goods.

While the construction of linkage may be costly, the Manila mayor believes that the benefits it will give to the public is beyond value.

“Mura lang yon. Kasi walang halagang maitutumbas ang kagaangang maibibigay sa bawat tao ng mga bagay na ginagawa ng gobyerno... Tao muna ang mauna sa pamahalaan ko (Mura lang yon. Because there is no value that can compare to the ease that can be given to each person by the things that the government does ... People come first in my government)," Domagoso said.

Bataan Governor Albert Garcia, meanwhile, thanked Domagoso for paying a visit to the province, as well as for helping them in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Garcia said Domagoso helped the province in setting up a cold chain facility in the Capitol.

“Kaya naman outside of Metro Manila, inuna naman ang Bataan sa supply ng bakuna, at kaya outside of NCR, nangunguna ang Bataan sa pagbabakuna sa mga kababayan (That is why outside of Metro Manila, Bataan takes the lead in the supply of vaccines, and so outside of NCR, Bataan takes the lead in vaccinating its countrymen)."
