Senators say 'yes' to three-day vaccination drive

Senators on Wednesday, Nov. 9 threw their support behind a three-day vaccination drive.

‘’Yes, I support government effort to vaccinate at least 50 million Filipinos by year end,’’ Senate President Ralph G. Rectos said.

Presidential aspirant Senator Panfilo M. Lacson, on the other hand, emphasized that‘’late is never too late as long as it is for the greater good of the Filipino people.’’

‘’A three-day National vaccination drive is a welcome development para tuluyan na nating maabot ang herd immunity at sana lagpas pa dun (to reach herd community and beyond),’’ he stressed.

‘’Ang pagbubukas ng ekonomiya ang pinakamimithi ng sambayanang Pilipino para makaahon na tayo sa pagkakalugmok ng ating bansa - sa hirap, gutom, kawalan ng trabaho at negosyo at pagkabaon sa utang (Filipinos have been praying for the opening of the economy. Filipinos have been mired in poverty, hunger, loss of jobs and businesses and in debt),’’ he added.

Senator Aquilino Pimentel III said drives and other activities to promote voluntary vaccination are always welcome.’’

‘’Let us pursue the ‘vaccination of the willing’.Let us add benefits to those who want or get the vaccination,’’ he stressed.

‘’Let us not subtract from from the benefits already being received by the people. Let the people, vaccinated or not, continue to receive the benefits being given to them even before the (COVID-19) pandemic. No to subtraction, yes to addition,’’ he added.
