But not as sexiest man alive as PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar but for inspiring stories about Filipino leadership and local governance.

“I am hoping that the experiences I have shared in the feature story will inspire the next generation of leaders, not only in the PNP, but in other agencies as well, to always think first of the welfare of our countrymen. Sana ay makakuha sila ng inspirasyon mula sa aking mga pinagdaanan upang maging tapat sila sa kanilang sinumpaang tungkulin (I hope that they would be inspired of what I have been through to serve honestly to our sworn duty),” said Eleazar.

The LEAGUE magazine chose PGen Eleazar for its 4th anniversary issue because of his inspiring career in law enforcement, dedication to public service, and unwavering resolve to bring the police force to new heights.

After more than three decades in the service, Eleazar is set to retire on November 13 when he reaches the mandatory retirement age of 56. He served the nation as top cop for at least six months.

Prior to his appointment as Chief PNP in May, he was the first commander of the Joint Task Force COVID Shield, the law enforcement and public safety arm of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also led the Administrative Support to COVID-19 Operations Task Force (ASCOTF), which is tasked with coordinating all PNP administrative actions in support of police operational response to COVID-19.

Eleazar also became the chief of the Calabarzon police and the National Capital Region Police Office. In 2016, he became the commander of the Quezon City Police District where he led the relentless anti-crime and anti-illegal drug operations.

He also served as chief of police of San Pedro, Laguna; provincial officer of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Batangas and Laguna; chief investigator of the Police Anti-Crime and Emergency Response (PACER); and regional chiefs of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) offices in Central Luzon and Central Visayas.

Eleazar also held administrative positions in the Directorate for Logistics and Directorate for Comptrollership. He also led before the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group's campaign against online sexual exploitation of children and internet-based fraud.
