Kidapawan High School successfully completes dry run for pilot face-to-face classes


DAVAO CITY — The Paco National High School in Kidapawan City conducted its dry run for the pilot face-to-face classes next week.

"Napakahalaga ang araw na ito dahil ito ang simula pagbabalik ng face to face learning This is a very important day because this signals the return of face-to-face learning)," said Kidapawan City Mayor Joseph A. Evangelista in a statement on Monday, Nov. 8.

"Malaki ang kaibahan ng pagkakaroon ng aktwal na klase kumpara sa modular at blended learning at umaasa ako na magtutuloy-tuloy na ang pagpasok ng mga mag-aaral (There is a huge difference between modular and blended learning and the actual face-to-face classes and I hope the students' return to their schools will be sustained)," Evangelista added.

The ocular inspection was conducted by Mayor Evangelista together with Kidapawan City Schools Division Superintendent Natividad Ocon, Dr. Rubelita H. Aggalut, head of PDOHO, Department of Health (DOH 12) North Cotabato and Education Program Supervisor Gilbert B. Barrera of DepEd-12.

The school set up well-ventilated classrooms, a washing and disinfecting area, a holding area and body temperature scanners inside the campus.

Two doctors were also assigned to monitor the health of the students who will be returning to school next week.

The school will also have an isolation room in case there will be students or teachers who would show any symptoms of the coronavirus disease (OVID-19).

Arturo L. Gimenez Jr., school principal of Paco National High School, said 111 Grade 11 students and 61 Grade 12 students will attend the limited face-to-face learning.

Gimenez said they will limit the number of students to 20 per classroom and will ensure physical distancing.

Paco National High School is among the 30 schools in the country that will implement the pilot face-to-face learning from November 15, 2021 until January 31, 2022.

The school also thanked the city government for the P600,000 financial aid from the Special Education Fund to be utilized for the school's additional facilities.
