BTS’ Jin’s ‘Yours’ OST for Korean drama ‘Jirisan’ tops iTunes in 82 countries


K-pop superstars BTS member Jin’s main theme song for the Korean drama “Jirisan” topped iTunes in more than 80 countries and set a record.

“Yours” by Jin was released on major music sites at 6 p.m. KST (5 p.m. Philippine time) on Nov. 7. This is the first time that Jin has participated in an original soundtrack (OST) as a solo artist.

“Jirisan” stars Jun Ji-hyun and Ju Ji-hoon, and tells the story of national park rangers who are responsible for search and rescue on Mount Jiri.

Upon release, “Yours” topped iTunes Top Songs chart in 82 countries, according to Korean media outlet Dispatch.

It added that “Yours” also set a record for becoming the first solo song in iTunes history to reach No. 1 in 80 countries in the fastest time, achieving the feat by 7:30 p.m. KST.

“Yours” also became No. 1 on US iTunes Top Songs chart on Nov. 7, achieving it in less than a day of release, according to Dispatch.

A special music video for “Yours” was also released on AStory (the producer of the drama) official YouTube channel on Nov. 7. The combined views of the three videos of “Yours” on the channel totaled 3.33 million as of writing.

AStory previously said that “Yours” by Jin “will be used in the main title of the drama to maximize immersion so please look forward to it.”

On the fan community platform Weverse, a fan asked when Jin’s song would come out and Jin replied, “Please love ‘Jirisan’ a lot. I'll have to see it too."

The hashtags “#YoursOutNow” and “#YoursByJin trended on Twitter on Nov. 7 upon the release of the song.

“Jirisan” is aired on tvN in South Korea and streamed on OTT platform iQiyi International outside Korea.
