Pisay scholars win 6 awards in int’l student camp for science wizards


Students of the Philippine Science High School (PSHS)-Soccsksargen (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos) Region Campus won in the 11th ASEAN+3 Student Camp for the Gifted in Science (Pre-Training) held from Aug. 28 to Oct. 16.

The PSHS congratulated the students and coaches of the PSHS-Soccsksargen Region Campus for bagging awards in the international competition.

"The Philippine Science High School System congratulates the scholars and the coaches of PSHS- Soccsksargen Region Campus for winning six awards in the 11th ASEAN+3 Student Camp for the Gifted in Science (Pre-Training) held from August 28 to October 16, 2021. We are proud of you!,”read the PSHS Facebook post.

Two teams from the campus won first place for Physics category. The first team is composed of Ryhannah Gwynne B. Nieves, Hera Paola T. Paez, and Sumelia Louise A. Jebulan. They also won third place for Chemistry.

Another winning team members who landed first place for Physics were Azman M. Usop, Kiara B. Polvorosa, and Jeann Franxes Khristy S. Pe.

Landing second place for Physics were Audrey Yannah Z. Kasan, Justin Barnett C. Teng, and Emmanuel Neil S. Manzares.

Students Gelraycs Jules D. Fornan, Keziah S. Tanawan, Kristah Airah S. Barroquilo, and Jolea Rovie Frances H. Waje came in second place for Biology.

Bagging the third prize for Chemistry were Crystal Kate P. Sanchez, Aldren Carl Magalona, Nor-Asiza and Decampong.

Participating countries in the global student camp are member-countries of the ASEAN and its partner countries.
