Maureen Montagne is Miss Globe 2021

Filipina-American beauty queen Maureen Montagne has been crowned Miss Globe in Albania.

Miss Nigeria finished first runner-up while Miss Turkey, Miss Venezuela, and Miss Canada finished at second, third, fourth place, respectively.

Maureen's feat gave Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated (BPCI) a back-to-back win.

Last week, Philippines’ Cindy Obeñita was named Miss Intercontinental 2021.

BPCI was quick to congratulate Maureen on her latest milestone.

"From Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2021 to Miss Globe 2021! What a great news to wake up to! (Philippine flag)," they wrote on Instagram today, Nov. 6. "Congratulations, Maureen! We are so proud of you. (crown emoji)."

BPCI's Stella Marquez Araneta is "thrilled" with Maureen's latest pageant achievement.

"We never doubted that you will represent our country so well internationally," they reiterated. "You make us very proud. See you back in the Philippines, our queen!"

On the other hand, Maureen's Binibining Pilipinas batchmate, Miss Philippines International 2021 Hannah Arnold, said the crown "fits perfectly" on the 26-year-old model-event host from Batangas.

"OUR PAGEANT UNICORN GOT HER CROWN," she wrote in another comment.

During the question-and-answer portion of the pageant, Maureen was asked: "Do you think beauty is a merit and how can we enrich it with other values?"

Her winning answer: "I think that true beauty comes from within. To be a Miss Globe is to be a beauty that inspires. What makes us beautiful is our smiles, it is what we do for our community, it is how we give back to others, and it is how we carry ourselves through lives," she said.

"I believe that everyone has beauty inside of them and I believe it is our duty to share it with the world and to give back and to truly inspire others," she added.

Maureen was born and raised in Chandler, Arizona, USA. She is of Filipino and French descent.

She went back to the Philippines in 2013 to compete in various national pageants.

Her first was the Mutya Ng Pilipinas in 2013 where she finished first runner-up.

She then competed at the Miss Arizona pageant, going on to compete at the Miss USA 2015, where she placed at the Top 15.

Maureen then joined Miss World America in 2017 where she finished first runner-up.

She was then crowned Miss Eco Philippines in 2018, representing the country at Miss Eco International held in Egypt where she was named first runner-up.

She was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Globe in 2021.

The country's first Miss Globe crown was bestowed to Ann Colis in 2015.
