Kobe Paras misfires as Ryukyu adds to Niigata's woes

Kobe Paras and Niigata Albirex continued their woes in the resumption of their B.League campaign Saturday, Nov. 6 after an 86-75 home defeat to the Ryukyu Golden Kings.

Paras was held to seven points on 3-of-13 shooting as Niigata lost for the seventh straight time for a 2-8 record in the Japanese league’s 2021-22 season.

The second-generation player came into the contest averaging 13 points in his maiden B.League season.

Niigata hasn’t won since defeating Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix, 77-64, last Oct. 3.

Teammate Rosco Allen posted 21 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the loss.

Former Niigata player Keith Imamura inflicted damage on his hometown club by scoring 23 points while Dwayne Evans topscored with 26 points.

Three-time PBA Best Import Allen Durham, another ex-Niigata mainstay, added 15 points, 10 rebounds and four assists for Ryukyu, which kept a share of the lead with Seahorses Mikawa at 8-2.
