“The existing curfew hours from 12:00 midnight to 4:00 am currently implemented in the Municipality of Pateros is hereby lifted and rendered inoperational effective November 4. 2021 except for minors 17 years old and below,” according to Ponce’s order.

He said minors are exempted from the curfew “when they are accompanied by their parent/s or when attending to work or business.”

Last Oct. 10, Ponce and 16 other mayors under the Metro Manila Council (MMC) signed Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Resolution 21-23 shortening the curfew hours in the National Capital Region (NCR) to midnight to 4 a.m. from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. effective Oct. 13 “as the region perceives a downtrend in its COVID-19 active cases.”

After this, Metro Manila mayors signed MMDA Resolution No. 21-25 last Nov. 2 lifting the unified curfew hours of midnight to 4 a.m. in Metro Manila starting Nov. 4 “through the Metro Manila Local Government Units, subject to existing ordinances on the curfew hours of persons below eighteen (18) years old and the continued observance and enforcement of COVID-19 protocols and minimum public health standards.”

In lifting the curfew in Pateros, Ponce said, “Christmas Season is approaching and increased movement of people is expected preparing for the holidays amidst the declining number of COVID-19 virus infection.”

He added that “mall operators have agreed to adjust their operating hours by opening until 11:00 pm and to complement the same, the Metro Manila Council passed and approved MMDA Resolution No. 21-25 Series of 2021 lifting the prevailing curfew hours of 12:00 midnight to 4:00 am in the National Capital Region.”

“Violation of the provisions of this Executive Order shall subject the violator to the penalties provided by the applicable ordinance in relation thereto,” said Ponce.

As of Nov. 3, Pateros has 74 active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases including 44 new cases for the day out of 7,800 confirmed cases, 7,622 recoveries, and 100 deaths.

Pateros recorded 26 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 4 to place 12th among local government units (LGUs) in the country with the highest COVID-19 cases for the day, according to data released by OCTA Research coming from the Department of Health’s Data Drop.
