COVID-19 vaccination for pediatric group kicks-off in Bulacan


The Provincial Government of Bulacan has started the vaccination of pediatric age group 12 to 17 with comorbidities in the only designated venue at Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in the City of Malolos, Bulacan on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

Dr. Hjordis Marushka Celis, Provincial Health Officer 11, said that the vaccination started at 8:a.m., and the target number to be vaccinated was 130 to 150 individuals.

Gov. Daniel R. Fernando said qualified for vaccination are minors with existing health conditions that include heart disease, hypertension, neurological condition, obesity, HIV Infection, bronchial asthma, cancer, leukemia, anemia, diabetes mellitus, autism spectrum disorder, and dialysis patients.

He urged Bulakenyo to register their children not only to protect them from COVID-19 but also to pave the way for resumption of face-to-face classes.

"Napakahalaga po ng COVID-19 vaccine sa ating katawan lalung-lalo na sa mga kabataan dahil ito ang magtatanggol sa atin laban sa mga matitinding sakit tulad ng coronavirus disease 20219," (The COVID-19 vaccine is very important because it will be our defense against severe illnesses like the coronavirus disease)," Fernando said.
