Caloocan City starts inoculating general pediatric population


The local government of Caloocan City started the COVID-19 vaccination of minors aged 12-17 without comorbidities on Wednesday, Nov.3.

According to the city government, all minors who were vaccinated against COVID-19 were accompanied by their parents or guardians.

They underwent screening, counseling, and post-vaccine monitoring.

“Tanging Pfizer at Moderna lamang ang pinapayagan sa ngayon ng ating Food and Drug Administration upang ibakuna para sa edad 12-17,” it said in a statement.

“Taos-pusong nagpapasalamat ang Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Caloocan sa ating medical workers, at maging sa DepEd Caloocan para sa tulong at suporta nito, partikular na sa pagbuo ng schedule upang mabakunahan ang mga mag-aaral sa lungsod na kabilang sa nasabing age group,” it added.

Minors with comorbidities and residents who are studying outside Caloocan will be accommodated at Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC) and Caloocan City North Medical Center (CCNMC).

The city government is encouraging the parents or guardians to register their children for COVID-19 vaccination at bit.ly/Caloocan_profiling17.

As of Nov. 1, a total of 921 minors have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
