Pacquiao camp relieved MP Nation shifted support to Mayor Isko: Good riddance?

The camp of presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday said the welcome the loyalty shift of one of the senator’s volunteer group, MP Nation, which recently bolted out and threw its support behind another presidential candidate, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno.

“We are relieved that Mr. Dani Enriquez has made this announcement that he and his group are no longer connected with the camp of Senator Manny Pacquiao. Mr. Enriquez is an impostor who tried to wiggle himself into Senator Manny Pacquiao’s campaign team for money-making schemes but was immediately exposed and cut off upon discovery of his real motive,” said Salvador “Buddy” Zamora, Pacquiao’s campaign manager said in a statement.

Even before switching loyalty, Zamora said Enriquez and his group was already blocked from conducting businesses related to Pacquiao’s presidential campaign. He said Enriquez was “severely castigated for his scheming ways and was ordered to stop representing the senator.”

“Mr. Enrquez is bad news so we are glad that he has officially and formally informed the public that Senator Pacquiao and his camp are no longer connected with him. This only shows that Senator Pacquiao does not condone or tolerate shenanigans and misfits in his team,” he said.

“He would not hesitate to kick them out regardless of their relationships just like what happened with another former associate Jayke Joson,” he pointed out.

Zamora also explained they are not worried of Enriquez’s departure from the group as MP Nation is a sham formed by the latter to justify fund-raising schemes not just from the senator, but also from businessmen who are potential campaign donors.

“In fact, only last week, the group of singer-song writer and Oriental Mindoro Board Member Lito Camo and other supporters of Senator Pacquaio met to declare that they do not want to have anything to do with Mr. Enriquez’s MP Nation,” he explained.

“Camo and other leaders are also well aware of his money-making schemes and wanted to distance themselves from his group,” he added.

Moreover, they also discovered that Enriquez misrepresented himself as a Philippine Airforce colonel: “When he was confronted about this, he claimed that he was Class 82 of the Philippine Airforce Flying school but had been discharged. This, too, was disputed by real Philippine Airforce officers.”

“These actions of Mr. Enriquez raised the red flag and had turned off Senator Pacquiao. He was soon cut off from Team Pacquiao and this apparently prompted him to join the camp of Mayor Isko Moreno,” Zamora stressed.

“We wish him luck as part of Mayor Isko’s team and good riddance,” he further said.
