A Halloween musical treat that explored 'outer space'

The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra serenades kids dressed in space-themed costumes

Last Sunday, in time for Halloween, the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) presented “Tricks and Musical Treats: A PPO Family Concert.” Aimed at children and families watching online, the objective of the concert is to develop in young children an early foundation of appreciation for orchestral music.

Subtitled as “A Musical Voyage to Outer Space,” the concert was attended by kids who wore space-themed costumes. It was livestreamed through Zoom and was hosted by award-winning actor Liesl Batucan.

The UST Symphony Orchestra also had a special participation in the concert, discussing the Basic Concepts of Music such as Rhythm and Dynamics, Melody and Harmony, Timbre, and Texture.

The event was also supported by corporate partners Huachen Bayfront Hotel and Resort, Photobook Philippines, and a number of media partners.
