2 QC programs win in Digital Governance Awards 2021

Two programs of the Quezon City government were recognized during the virtual ceremony of the Digital Governance Awards (eGov Awards) 2021 on Friday, Oct. 29.

The "Automated Inspection Audit System" project of the QC Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) in 2020 won second place in the "Best in Customer Empowerment- City Level" category.

The system allows business inspectors to conduct easy and paperless inspections and transactions in more than 85,000 businesses in the city through a web portal.

The QC Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office's (QCDRRMO) "Intelligent, Resilient, and Integrated Systems for Urban Population (iRise UP)" project got the third spot in the "Best in Government Internal Operations- City Level" category.

The iRise UP was launched in 2021 to help the local government in tracking different calamities using early warning devices and field equipment placed in different areas.

Through the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) feature, the equipment can also map COVID-19 cases in specific areas.

Meanwhile, "QCBizEasy", the city's online business permit application system, was included as a finalist in the "Best in Business Empowerment" category.

The National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP) and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched the eGov Awards in 2012 to search for outstanding programs of the LGUs using the information and communication technology in providing excellent public service.
