PNVF reveals participating teams in inaugural Champions League

Seven men’s and seven women’s teams have confirmed participation in the first Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) Champions League set late this month

In a post from its official Twitter account, the PNVF released the groupings for the said weeklong affair for the best club teams across the country.

The women’s tournament will kick off the affair on Nov. 20 to 25, while the men’s competition will be held Nov. 29 to Dec. 4.

The Baguio Lady Highlanders, the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and the Perlas Spikers comprise Pool A in the women’s division, while Pool B is composed of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, California Precision Sports, Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors and the Petro Gazz Angels.

Absent from the lineup were Premier Volleyball League Open Conference runners-up Creamline Cool Smashers and fourth placer Choco Mucho Flying Titans. Reports said the teams decided to take some rest following their participation in the PVL Open Conference.

Pool A for the men’s division, meanwhile, is composed of the Basilan Peace Riders, Go For Gold Air Force Aguilas and the Manileño Spikers.

Pool B will have Global Remit, Sabong International Spikers, MRT-Negros and Team Dasma Monarchs.

In previous interviews, PNVF president Tats Suzara said the objective of having a National Champions League is to bring regional teams to these events.
