All’s well that ends well between TNT’s Troy Rosario and Magnolia Pambansang Manok’s Jackson Corpuz after the two exchanged hands following their hard-fought PBA Philippine Cup championship series.

A photo posted in the PBA’s official website showed Corpuz congratulated Rosario, who sat on the bench fighting tears as the Tropang Giga won the title with 94-79 win over the Hotshots last Friday, Oct 29 at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga.

It was a nice gesture of sportsmanship by the two players, who were the central figures in a scary incident that marred Game 3 five days earlier.

Rosario suffered a spinal shock and a dislocated finger after he was bumped by a sprinting Corpuz with 3:02 left in the third quarter of that match which saw Magnolia winning 106-98.

TNT players didn’t take Corpuz’s act kindly and it took cooler heads to avoid the situation from escalating.

Netizens were also split on whether Corpuz did a deliberate move on Rosario, but Magnolia’s Chito Victolero was quick to defend his player from insinuations of being dirty.

Corpuz was slapped with a Flagrant Foul 1, but the league’s technical committee headed by deputy commissioner Eric Castro upgraded the infraction to a Flagrant 2 which corresponds to a P20,000 fine.

Good thing was that Rosario was able to play the remaining two matches, opting to delay his surgery until the end of the series.
