In a short video released on T1’s YouTube channel, the team announced the return of the its Dota 2 squad which also includes Indonesians Kenny “Xepher” Deo and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon and Thai Nuengnara “23Savage” Teeramahanon.

“T1's Dota 2 team re-signs and keeps the bond strong for another season of Dota 2 next year. Kuku, 23savage, Xepher, Whitemon and Karl are going to continue their journey together, as #OneT1,” said T1 in the caption of the announcement video.

It was a fitting reward for the Dota 2 squad which put up a stellar performance in The International 10 where it finished at 7th-8th place in its very first campaign in the Dota 2’s crowning tournament.

T1 also exceeded expectations as despite having four TI first timers in Xepher, Whitemon, 23Savage and Karl, the team managed to give other top Dota 2 teams a run for their money. The Southeast Asia representative even had a rousing streak in the tournament when it closed out the group stages with an impressive four straight victories, all via 2-0 sweeps to finish at the fourth spot of the Group A standings and secure the upper bracket in the playoffs.

The team however fell to PSG.LGD in a tight 2-1 loss which dropped the squad to the lower bracket. T1 then clobbered North American team Alliance, 2-0, before they were sent packing by Vici Gaming, 2-1, in the next round.
