Korina Sanchez saddened by Noli de Castro's withdrawal from Senate race

Seasoned broadcast journalist Korina Sanchez has expressed sadness that her senior colleague, veteran broadcast journalist Noli de Castro, has withdrawn his application from the 2022 senate race.

On Instagram, she wrote: "I feel sad my friend Kabayan Noli de Castro backed out of the Senate race. His voice is also missed in TVPatrol. Though the women are doing a great job now. I always remember Kabayan towards Halloween. One Halloween Special we collaborated on an episode. Memorable. Kabayan, saan ka man naron, si Noli ka pa din."

It was early this month, when Noli bid ABS-CBN goodbye going on to announce his political plans.

However, less than a week later, his daughter, PTV4 General Manager Kat de Castro, released a statement about her dad withdrawing his candidacy.

In there, Noli said: "Kasabay ng pagdarasal sa Poong Nazareno, napag-isip-isip kong mas makatutulong ako sa pagbibigay ng boses sa ating mga kababayan sa pamamagitan ng pamamahayag."

Meanwhile, Kat cleared in another post the different rumors behind the reason why Noli backed out.

"Ang dami naman pong nagpapadala ng messages sa akin. Para isahan na lang: -My Dad is okay health wise. No need to worry about anything. -He has personal reasons for withdrawing his candidacy. -He’s now spending time with family, most especially with his grandchildren. -What’s his next move? Wala pa. Pahinga muna siya," she wrote on Facebook.

On the other hand, yesterday, Oct. 27, Noli posted a cryptic post on his Instagram account.

It read: "Magandang Umaga, Bayan. Miss ko na kayo kabayan. Abangan (blushing emoji)."

So is he returning to ABS-CBN or jumping to another network?

Let's see!
