The Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) are inaugurating Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA)'s new Corporate Building in Lapu-Lapu City, Oct. 28, 2021.

Completed this March, the six-storey Corporate Building will house employees of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) under one roof.

Identical to the MCIA’s design, the corporate office building will have passageways linked to terminal buildings to avoid crossing vehicle lanes.

DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, who is inaugurating the MCIAA Corporate Building and Command Center will also inspect the airport’s secondary runway, which is expected to be completed in May, 2022.

In May this year, Secretary Tugade inaugurated the MCIA’s new taxiway and apron, which increased the airport’s aircraft parking capacity from 40 to 50 slots and maximized aircraft movement capacity.

The development projects at the MCIA and construction of airports in Cebu are part of the DOTr's initiative to provide world-class service to passengers and boost the economy of Cebu and Central Visayas.
