Leni is my president, says Muntinlupa mayor


Muntinlupa Mayor Jaime Fresnedi declared his support to the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan.

“I believe she is the best candidate our country needs today together with Kiko Pangilinan. And the best leader to lead our country,” said Fresnedi.

Fresnedi, who is now on his third and final term as mayor, is running for congressman in the lone district of Muntinlupa in the May 9, 2022 elections.

His running mate under the One Muntinlupa party is incumbent Rep. Ruffy Biazon, who is running for mayor of Muntinlupa. Incumbent Vice Mayor Artemio Simundac is also running under One Muntinlupa.

There are 48 candidates who filed their certificates of candidacy (COC) for local positions in Muntinlupa, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Muntinlupa.

The Robredo-Pangilinan tandem’s senatorial candidates are Sen. Leila de Lima, former Sen. Antonio Trillanes, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, Chel Diokno, former Baguio Rep. Teddy Baguilat, Alex Lacson, Chiz Escudero, former vice president Jejomar Binay, Sen. Richard Gordon, Sen. Migz Zubiri, Sen. Joel Villanueva and Sonny Matula.

“Inihahain ko ang aking sarili bilang kandidato sa pagkapangulo sa halalan ng 2022 (I am offering myself as a candidate for president in the 2022 elections),” Robredo said on Oct. 7 when she declared her bid for the presidency.
