Partido Reporma chairman and standard-bearer Senator Panfilo “Ping” M. Lacson is not letting varying pre-election survey results affect the direction that his campaign team is taking in support of his 2022 presidential bid.

Speaking over DZRH online radio, Tuesday morning (October 26, 2021), Lacson indicated that public opinion polls ahead of the general elections remain too close to call insofar as the presidential candidates are concerned.

Therefore, he is not worried about his current standing, he stressed.

‘’We are not worried because our campaign is running continuously, and there are a lot of surveys coming out with varying results, different numbers. So, we just keep our focus, that is what we’re doing. We are not distracted,’’ he said.

Based on the latest ‘Pulso ng Pilipino’ nationwide pre-election survey conducted between September 27 to October 8, 2021 by the Issues and Advocacy Center, Lacson improved to 12.5 percent in his popularity rating.

Lacson, chairman of the Senate national defense and security committee, broke into double digit figures for the first time since throwing his hat in the presidential ring “on the basis of a strong showing in Luzon and Visayas regions,” according to the polling firm.

Numbers for the Partido Reporma presidential bet are expected to get a boost in the run-up to the 2022 polls as more political leaders and citizens expressed unequivocal support for his candidacy in tandem with vice presidential candidate Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III.

Hundreds of local leaders in Samar took their oath as new members of Partido Reporma this week before secretary-general and Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib. The party likewise recruited hundreds of additional supporters from Dalaguete, Cebu and Maasin, Leyte.

Partido Reporma spokesperson Ashley Acedillo also remained confident on the chances of Lacson to win the 2022 presidential race because of his consistent positive trajectory in almost every survey that was conducted recently.

“Only our candidate (Lacson) has been consistently going up (in the surveys). This is good in terms of campaign strategy because it means whatever we are doing has been effective and we only need to give it more emphasis and more focus in certain areas,” Acedillo said in an interview with Politiko TV, Monday (October 25, 2021).

“Fundamentally, this means our candidate is strong and he continues to receive widespread support. So, I’m sure those who are familiar with surveys and who are tracking the surveys will agree with that assessment,” the Partido Reporma spokesperson added.
