Mayor Edwin Olivarez thanked the Metro Manila Mayors’ Spouses Foundation Inc., headed by his wife, Janet, for the donation of medical supplies for the use of Barangay Nutrition Action Officers.

Olivarez said the medical supplies donated to the city contained Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), face shields, face masks, and gloves.

He said his wife was accompanied by the chief of the External and Homeowners Affairs Office head Eva Nono during the turn over ceremony held after the virtual flag raising ceremony of the city government.

The mayor announced the city may achieve herd immunity and will have a happy Christmas this December.

Olivarez said the city government is hopeful that it can finish administering the second dose of vaccines by the end of November.

He said that based on the records of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit CESU), the city recorded only 24 active cases on October 24.

The mayor also said the CESU was recording 200 cases daily in August and the strict implementation of prevent-detect- isolate-treat and reintegrate plus vaccination has helped in bringing down COVID-19 cases.
