TNT’s Troy Rosario is doubtful to see action for the rest of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals due to a spinal shock and a dislocated left finger, team manager Gabby Cui said Monday, Oct. 24.

Cui said Rosario may need surgery after sustaining both injuries in the third quarter of the Tropang Giga’s 106-98 loss to the Magnolia Pambansang Manok Hotshots the other day at the Don Honorio Ventura State University in Bacolor, Pampanga.

“Spinal shock causing only 70 (percent) sensation on his left leg (plus an) open finger dislocation,” Cui said in a text message. “Doubtful to return because (he) may need surgery.”

Rosario got hurt with 3:02 left in the third quarter after a bad fall caused by a bump by Magnolia forward Jackson Corpuz, who was sprinting back on defense.

TNT players had to carry Rosario back to the dugout, which served as an earlier suggestion that he suffered more than just a broken finger.

Corpuz was handed a Flagrant Foul 1 but was ejected after being slapped with a technical foul earlier in the game.

The Hotshots cager was summoned Monday by the PBA technical committee headed by deputy commissioner Eric Castro.

It would be interesting to see if the league will upgrade Corpuz’s infraction which would result in a stiffer penalty.

Hotshots coach Chito Victolero defended Corpuz after Game 3, saying that he had no intention to deliberately harm Rosario.
