‘’Kami handa kaming harapin kahit sino (We are ready to face anyone).’’
With apparent conviction, Senate Minority Leader Franklin M. Drilon said the Robredo-Pangilinan tandem is ready to face a budding but relatively strong presidential and vice presidential team up of former Senator Ferdinand ‘’Bongbong’’ R. Marcos and presidential daughter Davao city Mayor Sara Duterte.
Or a Sara-Bongbong tandem.
Marcos, son of the late President Ferdinand E. Marcos, is the presidential bet of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) while Sara heads a regional party called Hugpong ng Pagbago (HNP) .
Sara earlier shot down speculations that she would run for the presidency after Senator Christopher ‘’Bong’’ Go filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for the vice presidency.
Go had turned down a nomination of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino (PDP)-Laban as its presidential bet.
Rumors started to fly today when Sara met with Bongbong and his elder sister, Senator Imee R. Marcos, in Cebu.
During a DWIZ radio interview today, Drilon, a Liberal Party (LP) official, said the presidential and vice presidential tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis Pangilinan would not flinch in facing who ever is its opponent.
‘’’Ang importante ang ihaharap namin sa taumbayan yung pinakamabuti, pinakamaayos, pinakadisente, hindi nagmumurang mga kandidato, hindi nagnanakaw, iyan po si Leni Robredo at Kiko Pangilinan (What is important is that we present to the nation the best, orderly, decent, they do not curse, they are not thieves and they are Leni Robredo and Kiko Pangilinan),’’ he added.
