Hand grenade explodes near Mangudadatu's convoy along highway in Maguindanao

An explosion happened at an Army checkpoint where Maguindanao Representative Esmael “Toto” Mangudadatu and his group were about to pass through Saturday evening along the national highway Saturday evening, October 23 in Brgy Macasampen, Guindulungan, Maguindanao.

A video posted by Mangudadatu showed the area where several policemen and military personnel were conducting an investigation.

“Muntik na kami. Desperate move,” was what Mangudadatu posted on his Facebook page together with the videos.

A sketchy report coming out of the area disclose that a hand grenade was thrown towards the direction of the army detachment and exploded.

Mangudadatu’s convoy, said to be numbering between 20-30 vehicles, were just about to pass through the area where the explosion happened.

Investigation is ongoing and no casualty or injury were reported as of this writing.
